Student Spotlight

The Mynderse Academy Drama Club represented our district exceptionally well at the Rochester Broadway Theatre League's Stars of Tomorrow Gala. We received the following awards:

• Excellence in Acting Ensemble
• Excellence in Dance Ensemble
• Excellence in Production Design
• Special Recognition to Brock Calabrese and Liam Tanner
• A "Round of Applause" to members of our crew: Stephanie Mirras, Connor Coventry, Kyah Lajewski
• "A Tip of the Hat" to Emma Lorenzetti and Brody Tanner
• Overall Excellence in a Leading Role: Samantha Jacobs, Noah Smith, Avi James
• Overall Excellence in a Musical Production 

The following grades 7-12 students auditioned for All-County at Canandaigua Middle School on Saturday, December 10th, and were selected to participate in the All-County Music Festival on January 28th and 29th in Seneca Falls:

All-County Junior High Orchestra: Long Cao - flute
All-County Junior High Jazz Ensemble: Noah Butler - tenor saxophone, Mason Ntuala - trumpet, Juliette Pagano - trumpet
All-County Senior High Concert Band: Marianna Siders - clarinet, Avinash James - alto saxophone, Arianne Mahoney - baritone saxophone, Mary Little - horn, Kyan Powers - trombone, Noah Smith - tuba, Deven James - timpani

The following students were selected, based on last year's NYSSMA solo performances, for the Senior High Area All-State Music Festival on February 4th and 5th at Ithaca College:
Concert Band: Mary Little - horn, Kyan Powers - trombone
Orchestra: Jewel Smith - clarinet, Noah Smith - tuba

The following students were selected, based on last year's NYSSMA solo performances, for the Statewide NYSBDA Honor Concert Band on March 4th and 5th in Liverpool:
Middle School: Noah Butler - tenor saxophone
High School: Avinash James - baritone saxophone, Noah Smith - tuba
